New Undergraduate-Run Neuroscience Journal Launching THIS QUARTER!

NEURO Club is launching a student-written research journal this quarter (Winter 2023)! In this, any students (both neuroscience majors and non-neuroscience majors) can take on various roles to make this journal come to life! First, students can write a short article on any neuroscience or neuroscience-adjacent topic (e.g. anger, neuroethics, neurology, rodent studies, clinical research, implication of neurotechnology, etc.) or even about your own research. Students are even able to co-write with friends.

Students will also have the opportunity to work on the journal in editorial or design positions. Students can also do more than one role (e.g. both writing an article and working on journal design).

Importantly, no writing experience is required! If you are interested in writing/editing/design, please fill out the following google form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd5WgVzwqRm7afmp0LcsCVVM0gq1rZRi2vAs49d9_NcYo1ITA/viewform?usp=sf_link

Additionally, please come to the Journal Interest Meeting during the Neuro Club Welcome Back this Thursday 1/12 @ 6:30pm at BSLC 218!

The journal leads, Jui Desai and Mudmee Sereeyothin, aim for this to be very causal and a low time-commitment that allows students to obtain experience writing about neuroscience and practicing open science communication to spread the knowledge about neuroscience to those who may not have prior exposure/experience.

Feel free to email Jui (juid@uchicago.edu) or Mudmee (csereeyothin@uchicago.edu)  if you have any questions/concerns.
