Mentorship Program in NEURO Club

Within NEURO club, members can sign up to be a neuro mentor or mentee depending on where you are in your neuroscience journey at the College. Our mentorship chair will pair you based on interests and styles to get you the best fit possible. Mentors serve as a guidance point for navigating the major and as a touchpoint that is less formal than an advisor or faculty.

Mentorship events will include sharing wisdom in “Scary Stories from Undergrad” where upperclassmen share mistakes they made as advice to younger students. “Apply Nights” are where mentors help mentees with emailing professors or applying to labs. We also offer less career-focused events like scavenger hunts and game nights.

NEURO club will also be working with the Neuroscience Early Stage Scientist Training Program (NESSTP) to further the mentorship experience in the upcoming school year.

Mentor/Mentee Sign-up

Sign up here to be a mentor or mentee! We will use the information you provide to match you with a mentor or mentee matching your interests and goals, and we hope this will allow you to grow a meaningful and helpful relationship!

If you have any questions or concerns, please email our Mentorship Chair, Chris Cardenas at cardenasc@uchicago.edu

Sign up for a coffee chat!

This year, we will be organizing coffee chats between underclassmen and upperclassmen to allow mentor-mentee relationships to be formed casually and on your own time! You don’t have to be a NEURO Club member to take part, allowing you to form these relationships without the club commitment. Sign up below if you’re interested in being matched with an under or upperclassman to go on a coffee chat with.
