NO GENERAL!

We will NOT be having a general meeting this upcoming Tuesday (4/26). Instead, the new board will need to attend a transition meeting from 5:30-7 p.m. in the BSLC 218.

Past Event Highlights

Check out some of the highlights of previously-held NEURO Club events!

Virtual Brain Dissection with Dr. Peggy Mason.

We were so happy to have Dr. Peggy Mason lead a virtual brain dissection for students interested in neuroanatomy. Students were able to see both sheep and human brains, learn about important brain structures, and hear amazing insight about neurodevelopment and neuroanatomy!

Check out Dr. Peggy Mason’s blog to see the recording of the dissection here

In Person Brain Dissection on CampusStudents were able to sign up to participate in a live brain dissection, where they were able to see the structures of the brain themselves!

Board Research Panel

Students on the board made a short presentation on their current research, including what their lab does, what their primary roles are, and how they got involved. Students were able to ask questions about types of research at UChicago, research assistant obligations, funding, and more!

Member-Led Brain Dissection Demonstration

One of our upperclassman, Yuri Sugano, led a demonstration on the brain.

He began by giving a short lesson on the development of the nervous system, explaining how the brain comes to be. Then, he related this to an actual brain as he dissected it and pointed out major structures. Finally, students were able to examine brains on their own and even make slices with the help of Yuri!

We loved getting to introduce so many excited students to some neuroanatomy! Check out some of the photos of this event below!
