Favorite Memories from 2021-2022
It’s no secret that NEURO Club offers so many events attended by students and faculty from numerous departments around campus. From jeopardy to art nights to faculty talks, there are so many opportunities for students to get involved and be active in the club. Read below to hear about some of the favorite memories of NEURO Club’s members from the 2021-2022 academic year!
One of my favorite memories from Neuro club was from the annual neuro club dissection. We were able to see, touch, and dissect parts of the human brain! It was such a cool experience - both because of the brains and also because of how excited everyone in the room was to hang out and experience an extraordinary opportunity together! 🧠

My go-to favorite NEURO club memory has to be my first NEURO club meeting ever, when NEURO club hosted an open brain dissection for anyone interested in attending. While I had done brain dissections in the past, the atmosphere of excitement and genuine joy the officers expressed at the possibility to teach and make neuroscience more accessible to other students-- even those who had no interest in pursuing neuroscience at all!-- really resonated with me. I felt like I had instantly found a group of people who were not just driven to succeed in their own respective endeavors, but wanted to serve as friendly resources that could help others succeed and discover their passion for neuroscience, too!

One of my favorite memories from this past year in NEURO Club was actually one of our art nights, where Trent (our now president who also majors in visual arts in addition to neuroscience) leads us in a painting night. It’s always a nice excuse to step away from a hectic night to make a sub-par painting while chatting to other NEURO Club members. This art night in particular happened to fall near pre-registration for the next quarter, so we were able to talk to each other about potential classes!
