What we do!
Two important functions of NEURO Club surround learning through two committees: the Committee on University Enrichment (CUE) and the Committee on Educational Development (CED). While CUE brings researchers in to teach NEURO Club members about active areas of research, CED puts NEURO Club members in the position to teach others (e.g. high school students) about neuroscience.
Committee on University Enrichment (CUE)
This committee focuses on presenting world-class researchers to share their modern developments in research. We find active researchers of interest, reach out to them, and organize bringing them to campus to present their research. Speakers this previous year included Dr. Mark Sheffield, Dr. Bernardo Sabatini, Dr. Peggy Mason, and more!
Committee on Educational Development (CED)
This committee, led this year by Jui Desai, focuses on partnering with local high schools to teach short lessons on neuroscience topics. Previous lessons have surrounded the neuroscience behind personalities and music. We generally teach during the winter quarter, but we are hoping to expand the program more this year!

FAQs
What do general meetings look like?
Our meetings alternate between several types of events. Some meetings have members split into groups to work on organizing future speakers and/or events to educate the local community on brain-related topics. We also hold more educational events. In the past, we have had members present about topics they’re interested in as well as their own current research projects. Additionally, we host leading researchers to present their findings and work with professors on campus to hold brain dissections. Not all of our meetings are strictly educational though! We have previously had events like brain-themed Art Night led by our own, Trent Davis, as well as Jeopardy and brain-themed brain teasers. All meetings are relaxed and designed to rejoice in our mutual love of neuroscience!
How do I become involved in NEURO Club?
Just email us here! We will get back to you quickly with information about our meetings and times!
Do I have to be a neuroscience major to be an active member in NEURO Club?
Absolutely not! One of our major goals is to share our passion for the field of neuroscience with everyone, so we welcome anyone who has an interest in learning more about neuroscience, researchers in the field, and more!
What can I do to become a more active member in NEURO Club?
Come to board meetings! We hold board meetings weekly as well, 30 minutes before the general meeting. We would love to have you share your ideas on how to improve NEURO Club. We also gladly welcome any internal education from members, so if you have a topic in neuroscience you’re particularly interested in, email us to set up a meeting that you can present your interest at!
